Requiem for David

I never saw your face,

I know you live in grace,

In a land so far away

That I’d love to see some day.

Capetown’s sons and daughters

Growing up by oceans’ waters,

Days so bright and stars at night,

Sea birds taking flight.

I’ll remember you because I love your sister,

I believe in you, because you touched my heart.

I know I’ll see you later –

When heaven’s gates I part.

For my dear friend, Patricia, who lost her younger brother in S. Africa this past winter.  Rest in Peace, David, dear.
