9/11 a Day to Remember Heroes
Today we honor those who perished on September 11, 2001. We remember the men, women and children whose lives were taken by madmen.
We salute the bravery of hundreds of firemen, police, and first responders who laid down their lives that others might live.
We remember the courageous men on the flight in Pennsylvania who brought down the plane in a country field, and foiled the terrorists, saving hundreds.
We remember all the New Yorkers, and the folks from New Jersey and Connecticut whose lives were impacted on that fateful day.
With pride we remember how wonderfully Mayor Rudy Giuliani handled the crises day after day and week after week.
And especially I remember how great New Yorkers are. They are generous, resilient, and dedicated people. They rose to the occasion, helped each other grieve and they learned to move on. New Yorkers are incredible people! They showed us all that if we stick together we can handle anything.
Today I salute New Yorkers! You have shown that we can overcome horrendous obstacles, and working together, we can move on into a brighter future.
Please remember that none of us will ever forget you. We won’t forget your sacrifices, your courage, and your trust in God and in your fellow-man.
May God bless those who lost their lives on September 11th, and the first responders who tried to save them.
We honor your memory. We will never forget.
